I did put both cameras side to side and this one had way brighter image than my old AG-HMC40 plus the lcd screen is bigger. I upgrade video cameras from time to time so I'm familiar with a mini dv tape touch screen sony camera,a sony hard drive standard 720p definition (touch screen also)and my last one a panasonic high definition memory card camera.but this one is the queen of all of them.Still a prosumer v. c. but good enough for me since I can't afford to buy a professional $$20,000 + Video camera ok,here is the comparison between the 2 of them panasonic AG- HMC40: splits... And I personal LOVE the anti-shake or the stabilization Panasonic is known for. Example: I was shooting some vid from a boat and the rocking motion is barely noticeable. And the touch screen is really nice. Still have to try ALL the different settings and functions the camera has but I'm looking forward to it.
